Digital Watt Hps
Will I blow my ballast if I put it on a digi timer?
I’ve been using a sun system 2 ballast running a 400 watt hps and I want to put it on a digital timer. I thought i read something about how it was bad to turn the light off without using the switch and i don’t want to blow it using a timer! Any thoughts?
Should be OK.
This site list a Intermatic 120V 20 Amp On-Off 24 Hour Timer
as an optional accessory for the Sun System 2 400W Metal Halide grow light. So switching in and of itself should not be a problem. Question to consider is if your intended digital switch could handle the load.
